Happy Monday and Day 32 of Another 100 Days of Hannah!
First things first: It feels really weird to not have the day correspond with the day of the month anymore. But, happy February regardless!
Now, onto blogging.
Do any of y’all feel guilty when you’re not doing something that you feel like you’re supposed to be doing, even if it’s better that you’re not doing it?
Today was supposed to be a work day.
However, with the snow and the wind that we’ve had for the last 36ish hours, this morning I decided against driving 2 hours to the other side of the state for six hours of eyecare.
But, even though I think it’s probably the safest option, I feel very guilty about it.
I mean, I drove across the state last week with poor conditions…
And the roads aren’t as bad as they were last night.
I mean, some cars are going almost 50 mph!
And so, maybe I could have made it.
And maybe it would’ve been find.
And maybe I should’ve just sucked it up and driven.
It’s easy for the thoughts to keep churning as I second guess my decision.
However, as I struggle with the guilt of the choice that I made, I am reminded of all the things I have to be thankful for.
I can be thankful for an unexpected day off.
I can be thankful for my health and safety.
I can be thankful for snow, and hopefully a chance to go for a walk (despite the blustery conditions) later today.
I can be thankful for my dad who went out and drove the roads to check conditions before I had to leave this morning.
I can be thankful for my kitten that I’m watching bounding through the snow, running up trees, and chasing birds.
I can be thankful for my team that didn’t throw a fit when I said – hey, I don’t think I can make it in today.
I can be thankful simply for today, whatever it may hold.
And with that, I think I’ll let y’all go.
What am I going to do?
No idea. But I can trust God that it’ll be good.
