Day 53: Privilege

Happy Monday and Day 53 of Another 100 Days of Hannah, y’all!
So, I started writing a post… and actually had a decent bit written, but felt guilty writing it, so I just erased it in favor of starting over.
So much for authentic vulnerability today I guess.
Because today, I’m struggling with coming to terms that I’m still allowed to struggle with stress and anxiety and exhaustion despite the privilege that I know I have.
The privilege to be able to have a shorter work week and still make ends meet.
The privilege to be able to rest on weekends when I feel tired no matter how much or how little I do.
The privilege to be able to take time to pursue hobbies and passions, like writing and music.
The privilege to be able to spend time with family amidst the pandemic.
The privilege to have had the opportunity to obtain an advanced degree.
The privilege to have access to physical and mental healthcare.
The privilege to be able to research and find answers to medical questions.
The privilege to be able to make healthy food and lifestyle choices.
And I could go on and on.
With all this privilege in mind, admittedly, it can feel like I should never have any problems or difficulties.
That I should just suck it up and act like everything is fine.
That I should just shut up and carry on with life.
Because, compared to the lives of so many, my life is, and always has been easy.
And, admittedly, on days like today, I’m not really sure how to move on from that.
Because it’s not fair.
And I’m not sure if it ever can be fair.
And, let’s be honest, I don’t know what fair looks like.
But, for today, that’s okay.
It’s okay to wrestle with feelings.
And questions.
And thoughts.
Because, at the end of the day, that’s how we find answers.
‘Til tomorrow,
