Day 70: How?

Happy Thursday (oh yeah, it’s garbage day) and Day 70 of Another 100 Days of Hannah, y’all!
*Insert obligatory ‘AHHH WE’VE MADE IT 70 DAYS’ comment here.*
But, for real.  There’s only 30 days – a month – left of this official round of blogging.
Honestly though, I’m considering continuing it.
Because, frankly, I’m really enjoying this habit of blogging before work.
It sort of makes me feel like I’ve accomplished something… even if it’s just writing a few short lines.
Hmm… I feel like the title could be: Another 100 Days of Hannah… and counting.
Input appreciated.
In any case – actual morning blogging thoughts:
For those of you who don’t know me, I have a lot of questions.
Okay, so I don’t normally actually verbalize them, because – hello, introvert who’s generally afraid to speak up and be vulnerable.
But they’re there.
I blame my (also introverted) tendency to get stuck in my head.
But, hey, it’s not all bad.
This morning I was thinking about the call in Ephesians 4:29:
“Do not let any unwholesome talk come out of your mouths, but only what is helpful for building others up according to their needs, that it may benefit those who listen.”
Admittedly, when I first read it, all I could think of was: How?
How in the world do we practically live this out in life? How do we only build up? How do we do everything without complaining or arguing?  Are we just supposed to suppress everything and act like the world is all sunshine and roses?  That doesn’t seem right.  If we are only to build up, how in the world do we call people out for what they’re doing wrong? I don’t get it.
Which, I think are all pretty valid points.

But, as my endless cycle of ‘how’s’ kept turning, the thought came to mind:
We already know how.  We have the perfect example of the one who kept – no, even better – who fulfilled the Law and the Prophets: Jesus!
Y’all, we have seen the image of the Father – it’s in His Son.
We have our example.
And what’s more, we have been given His spirit.
Romans 8:11 tells us that the very same spirit that raised Christ from the dead lives in us.
We have fellowship with the Holy Spirit.
He is our helper.
He is our guide.
How amazing is that?
That we don’t have to stay stuck forever in the how’s of this life.
That in Christ, we don’t have to keep on spinning – we can actually move forward.
With His help.
With His strength.
With His mercy and guidance.
I could keep going, but honestly, I really need to finish getting ready for work.
(Morning blog problems…)
