Day 110: Take Courage

Happy Tuesday and Day 110 of Another 100 Days of Hannah… and Counting, y’all!

First things first: y’all, the ‘screen time’ feature on the iPhone is incredible.  I know I talked a couple days ago about how I was setting timers on apps to keep me off of them, but completely forgot to mention that I also turned on the ‘screen time’ setting, to reduce the use of my phone from 9p to 7a.

For those of you who have never used this function, during the restricted hours, most of the apps on your phone will be non-functional.

Which sounds excessive.
But, there is an option to exempt some apps from these settings (ie I have messages, weather, and workouts available 24/7), and, there is always the option to ignore the limit.

With that said, I’m loving it.
I love having something to keep me in check – to help with self-control when I’d have the tendency to get off track.
Being on my phone less helps me stay in the present more.
It helps me to embrace the moment – even the painful ones – rather than run from them.
It… creates space.

Space to live.
Space to breathe.
Space to look to the Father.

Okay, now onto the actual topic of today’s post:

Guys, if I’m honest, after yesterday’s brain fog and dizziness, I’m a little afraid to go to work today.

I’m afraid to show up and not be able to do my job.
I’m afraid to show up and have it all fall apart.
I’m afraid to show up, have it fall apart, and still be expected to continue on.

Anyone else know the feeling?

It’s not one that I like.

As I’m tempted to hide in fear this morning, however, I’m reminded of the greatness of our God.

That He goes before us.
That He is with us.
That He promises to never leave us or forsake us.
That He fights for us.
That He is strong in us.
That His grace is enough for whatever we may face.

That He is good.
That His love endures forever.
That He numbers the hairs on our heads.
That He holds the stars in His hands.

That He overcame sin, death, and hell.
That He reigns above it all.
That He promises that no weapon formed against us shall prosper.
That when He is for us, what can stand against us.
And I am encouraged.
For I know that greater is He who is in me than He who is in the world.

‘Til tomorrow,

Hannah
